Tom Gillen is the founder of HedgeAdvisory and leads all Business and Product Development efforts.  Mr. Gillen’s career spans 25 years, serving in executive secondary marketing and mortgage banking operations roles for large to midsize banks and independent mortgage bankers.  Mr. Gillen has been instrumental in the development and growth of several organizations within the mortgage industry.  He has converted brokers to bankers, issued both complex and simple asset backed and mortgage backed security structures, implemented several loan originations systems and developed hedge and loan sale optimization analytics. 

 

Prior to founding HedgeAdvisory, Mr. Gillen was President, Susquehanna Bank, where he converted the residential lending enterprise by transitioning the bank from Best Efforts to Mandatory, from Held for Investment to Held for Sale, and from Service Released to Service Retained.

 

As the Senior Vice President, Head of Secondary Marketing for First Niagara Financial Group, Mr. Gillen reconstructed residential lending secondary marketing, and risk management divisions and developed all pricing, hedging, and loan sale analytics.  He directed day-to-day risk management activities, including trading, research, performance reporting, product design, and trade clearing operations. Under his direction, the bank developed a suite of secondary marketing software and models that included pipeline risk management, price distribution and locking, rate shock sensitivity, trade management, loan sale best execution, and mortgage servicing risk evaluation technologies.

 

Prior to his association with First Niagara Financial Group, Mr. Gillen was Senior Vice President at Fieldstone Investment Company, where he directed risk management, secondary marketing and loan origination information technology.

Mickey Maloney  
Principal

Mickey Maloney is a Principal at HedgeAdvisory instrumental in developing relationships and managing books of business.

 

Mr. Maloney spent 25 years at Fannie Mae, most recently as Vice President of Customer Management Solutions leading a team of professionals who provide day to day support and strategic guidance to small and medium sized lenders across the country.  Mr. Maloney and his team created partnerships by providing expertise in capital markets, technology, underwriting, servicing, and products/community lending initiatives.

 

Mr. Maloney spent the majority of his career as Vice President of the Whole Loan Conduit (WLC) Desk.  In this capacity, Mr. Maloney led a team of traders who priced, purchased, hedged, securitized, and sold whole loans.  Mr. Maloney managed the desk from a small operation buying $25m/day in a buy/hold capacity, to become the largest securitizer of MBS in the world managing a book that exceeded $200bn/year.  He successfully set strategic direction for the WLC desk and managed its day to day operations.  Mickey piloted the development of a new asset pricing engine that provided greater flexibility in pricing whole loans and better aligned whole loan execution with mortgage backed securities.  One of his proudest achievements was bringing specified pricing to the whole loan market, offering best in class execution on all specified products to all customers rather than it being the domain of just those who securitized MBS.

Callie Harrison  
Hedge Manager

Callie Harrison is a Hedge Manager at HedgeAdvisory and manages the day to day operations of the company’s proprietary analytics HedgeAdvisor®.  Ms. Harrison is a founding member of HedgeAdvisory and leads our client services division.   Ms. Harrison’s expertise is in advanced mathematics and formerly served as an adjunct professor and high school teacher.
